I began baking a few years ago as a method of sharing something with people I love. After a while that expanded and turned into something I wanted to do to make people smile as much as possible. I love sweets, so baking was an excellent way for me to share some joy with the people around me, and eventually expanded into a sort of business for me.
A bit about me.
Getting Started
To get started you won't need to buy any expensive mixers, or tools, much of what you'll need will be common items you can already find in your kitchen. These will include:
- A whisk
- A fine mesh sieve
- A silicone spatula
- A baking sheet
- A 9x13 rectangular cake pan
- A large mixing bowl
- Parchment paper
- Plastic wrap
- Toothpicks
These are some of the most essential items you will need to begin baking, and while you may need more down the line, these will be all that is required for the three recipes we will cover.

Below are a few links where you can find the appropriate pans and tools, all without breaking your bank.
- This is a good quality whisk, that will be sure to last as long as you'll need it.
- Here you may find a 9x13 cake pan.
- These are multiple baking sheets of various sizes. Having multiple helps ensure that you won't be forced to waste any extra time waiting for every batch to start the next.
- This set of 3 mixing bowls will be more than enough for anything you may need.
Afterword
The hardest part of learning a new skill or developing a new hobby is finding the time or motivation to start, so with these three recipes I will take you through each of them step by step, while trying to keep it as simple as possible. Each of these are exceedingly simple, so if there is ever a point where you make a mistake, there is absolutely no harm in starting over, or taking a step back!
